Beowulf Defeats Grendel

The beast came in the night.  I slew him as I said I would - naked and unarmed; with nothing but my hand grip.  Still, I wish he had not escaped.  Let all come to see the trophy I ripped from him!

  1. Beowulf, you are as a son to me! Let you never want for anything. You have made your father proud.

  3. Why did you do nothing to save my son? We believed in you and yet, you let him be murdered by the foul beast so that you might know his strengths? I expect compensation...

  4. Once again, you amaze us with your strength and cunning. How might any beast hope to stand against you, who has strength of thirty in his grip?

  5. I stand shame-faced. Truly, you are the warrior that you boasted to be and I stand in your shadow. My words ring hollow.
